Ozzy is right - they would have been there all day if they didn't have their teams helping them. In the end Ozzy's team was more helpful or just possibly louder and he moved the teenage mutant ninja turtle tower from left, right, center and then back again the fastest. Team Ozzy gets the taro and flint and skips along hand in hand to their new living quarters for the next month and ten days. Team Coach limps along sadly sending Coach daggers with their eyes.

I've been on a bit of a chili kick lately.

It all started when I found this great chili recipe that uses mostly Trader Joe's products. You don't have to use them - I have successfully made the recipe without them. BUT I have to admit it is significantly better with the corn/chile salsa. I also substituted chickpeas for the can of kidney beans as I have a glut of them in the cupboard. Remnants from when I was going to make my own hummus -- yeah that never happened.

I came across this recipe on the Trader Joes Fan facebook page

Turkey Chili
FROM: The Unofficial Guide to Trader Joe's

• 1 jar Trader Joe’s Corn and Chile Tomato-Less Salsa
• 1 jar Trader Joe’s Fat Free Chunky Salsa or 1 tub Trader Joe's fresh salsa
• 1 lb ground turkey
• 1 can black beans, drained
• 1 can kidney beans, drained

1. Brown turkey in frying pan.
2. Stir in both salsas.
3. Add beans and simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes,stirring occasionally.
4. Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream, and shredded cheese.

So on to the recipe of today. I'm not sure what it is a soup a chili - perhaps a combination of them both? What would that be called...

Mostly this recipe was born out of the ingredients I had on hand. The baked beans were on sale and I thought they would be a nice addition to a chili recipe.

Kelly's Turkey Tomato Vegetable Bean Soup

1 lb ground turkey
1 heaping tablespoon garlic
1 10 3/4 oz can of tomato soup
28 oz can Chopped Italian Tomatoes with Herbs & Olive Oil
48 oz container of Amish Baked Beans
16 oz bag Fiesta Style Vegetables (frozen) (mine contained broccoli, carrots, white beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, italian beans, red peppers)
16 oz box of macaroni shells
Parsley to taste
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 Bay Leaf

brown the ground turkey then add garlic
add all other ingredients
add 40 oz of water (4 soup cans)
Simmer - to heat up and let macaroni cook
Stir occasionally 45 - 60 minutes
add 56 oz more water (2 tomato cans)
Serve once desired temperature is reached (15-30 minutes)

Finally I came in first (after interviewing many, many, many places) and have been offered a new position as a Reference Librarian in Ohio.

This also means I am moving back to the (somewhat) frozen tundra of the North.

I am excited and nervous all rolled into one.

This also means I will no longer be in the South and am pondering a blog name change.

Perchance something librarycentric...

I'll have to think on it for a bit.

So I haven't blogged in forever...

Time to get back up on that horse!

I've got a lot to say at times - but I question at times whether or not to say it to the public at large.

Makes me think about censorship and reminds me of a question I was asked on the last interview I had.

"How do you feel about censorship?" "Do you agree with the ALA standard?"

I was shocked they asked the question. I briefly ran down my experiences when someone has challenged a book and ended with the fact that I would follow whatever the library precedent is for dealing with such a situation.

I initially read about the poem The Chaos via Neatorama and my Google Reader (which if you don't have one is fabulous! It brings all the bits of the web that you want to read to one location and ties it up in a pretty ribbon for you. Golly I love technology!

But anyway I digress..

The Chaos is a nifty poem about how difficult some words are to say in the English language. Sometimes our speech patterns and phraseology really does make little to no sense. It was first published by Dr. Gerard Nolst Trenité, in 1909, he revised and lengthened it several times before his death in 1946. More lines have been added posthumously. The Spelling Society published The Chaos in its entirety.

Bonus points as I just saw the movie Bright Star and the poem talks about Keats! I call that kismet!

I profess I am a lover of words. I like learning new ones - I enjoy using words in conversation that then people have to go and look up and yes I even enjoy a good made-up word (think Urban Dictionary) every now and again!

So without further adieu - I give you The Chaos:

Stay True to Who You Are. Don’t forget where you came from or what you believe in. Remembering this will help you to make the best decisions in life and will help you to live a life without regret.
Don’t Settle for Mediocrity. In Jim Collin’s first sentence of his book, Good to Great, he states, “Good is the enemy of great.” Good is often sufficient. Greatness, however, never settles. Don’t accept things as they are, for positive change comes from improving what is.
Don’t Burn Bridges. There will be times in your life when you may not care what other people think, but you never know when those people may pop up in your life again. Always do the right thing and maintain your relationships, for they may prove to be invaluable when you least expect it.
Live Honestly and with Integrity. At the end of the day, you only have to answer to yourself. Live in a way that makes you proud and in a way that enables you to look in the mirror every morning and like what you see.
Live with Humility. We all are imperfect and it is important to acknowledge our flaws just as much as our positive traits. Be thankful for your talents, for your successes and for the good fortune that comes your way. Don’t ever expect things just because you think you deserve them. You have to earn them.
Love, Respect, and Forgive Yourself. Self-love is most important when it comes to finding and experiencing love with others. Always treat yourself with kindness and forgive yourself for the times that you make mistakes.
Love Others Openly. When you love, love openly and unconditionally. This will allow you to experience a deeper love that can celebrate the best of times, as well as get you through the worst of times.

I got this via email -- and really liked it.

Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, 'I love you and I wish you enough'.

She began to smile. 'That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone'. She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more. 'When we said, 'I wish you enough', we want the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them'. Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.
